Japanese automobile major Honda is all
set to unveil its Jazz concept at the
Auto Expo in January 2008.

The concept which will be on display
at the Honda pavilion is expected to
be a prototype of its first small car
in India, pointed out a report.
Sharing quality space with the Jazz
concept at the Honda pavilion will be
a few of its hybrids as well as a new
version of the top-end sedan Accord
that was recently displayed at the
Tokyo Motor Show by the name of Honda
Inspire. The Accord Inspire had come
loaded with a 2.4 litre petrol engine.
We are not sure about the engine of
the Indian Accord Inspire yet, though
one can reasonably expect the same 2.4
litre petrol engine.

Talking of hybrids, the Japanese auto
maker has identified environment as a
theme for its participation in the
expo. In keeping with this theme, the
car major would display its globally
best selling hybrids the Civic Hybrid
and fuel cell FCX.
Reiterating the eco friendliness
theme, the company has said it’s
participation at the New Delhi auto
expo would be based on
environment-friendly products. Beside,
the company is also planning to bring
in its Formula 1 racing car to be
showcased at the Auto Expo. A report
quoting Honda Siel Cars India Senior
General Manager Marketing Jnaneswar
Sen said that both the hybrids and
Formula 1 cars require quite advanced
technologies and the company would be
showcasing its leadership in
technology during the Auto Expo 2008.
Meanwhile, Honda has big plans for
India. Honda has reportedly lined up
an initial investment of Rs 1,000
crore to set up its second
manufacturing facility at Alwar in
Rajasthan. This initiative would mark
its foray into the high volume small
car segment in the country. The plant,
which is expected to start production
by 2009, will see the Jazz concept
take real shape from its assembly
line.
