Hero Honda plans to launch seven new variants of its existing models ahead of the Diwali season.
The seven new Hero Honda variants will be from the 100 cc and 125 cc segment. The 100c and 125cc models include Splendour, Passion, Splendour NXG, Pleasure, Super Splendour, CD Deluxe, CD Dawn, Super Splendour and Glamour.
Although there will be no major changes, the new Hero Honda variants will have some technical changes.
Hero Honda plans to sell 6 lakh units in October 2008. According to ET, Hero Honda managing director Pawan Munjal has said, “In our silver jubilee year, we aim to clock the highest sales in our history. We have pushed up our production and are aiming retail sales of 6-lakh units, which is much higher than our sales in October 2006, when we had sold around 5-lakh units. We expect our October sales to be the highest ever.”
Hero Hond has beefed up its 3000 dealerships and sales points in India. Each dealership will carry maximum inventory and will sell all the units delivered by the company. The dealers are offering hefty discounts on the new Hero Honda variants to aggressively push sales.
On October 6, 2008, Hero Honda launched a Hero Honda CBZ E-treme variant in the 150 cc segment. The base price of the CBZ X-treme is Rs 54,500 and the self-starter variant is Rs 56,500, both ex-showroom Delhi.
Her Honda Motors’ cumulative sales rose 18.97% to 14,81,077 units in April-August 2008 over April-August 2007, while net profit saw a 43.70% growth to Rs 272.87 crore. Net sales in the first quarter of 2008 was Rs 2843.53 crore, an 16.20% increase over the first quarter of 2007.
