We can see the excitement building up, leaked spy photo by spy photo. The latest iteration of the Hero Honda Karizma is close to making its appearance.
Update: Hero Honda Karizma ZMR Fi launched!
Several site shave already published spy photos of the upcoming Hero Honda Karizma PGM-Fi. Everyone seems to know the name already. You can see PGM-Fi on the fairing, so unless Hero Honda decides to go with a new name prior to launch, then it must be the name! The graphics on the leaked pic sell out ZMR, so do not be surprised if we end up with a longish name such as Hero Honda Karizma ZMR PGM-Fi. Phew.
The Hero Honda Krizma 220 cc motorcycle has been around for – what, six years? Something like that, I think. Despite all those ads featuring Hrithik Roshan, while it sold well, the motorcycle did not become a super-hit like the Pulsar variants, or even the latest Yamaha FZ-16, FZ-S or the Fazer 150.
The latest Karizma though will come with fuel injection. That should sort of take care of that catching everyone’s fancy business. No one seems to have any clear idea of the actual horsepower or torque on offer.
We are not carrying any spy photos of the Karizma PGM-Fi on this site right now. If you need them, just google Karizma PGM-Fi and you will find a pile of them.
The few things one can make out from the spy photos of the Karizma PGM-fi are that 1) the bike will come with a full front fairing, the sides look very familiar, the shockers still remain the old-style ones (no centrally ounted single shocker), rear disc brake, different headlights, grab rail etc. The engine is now gold in colour, and the indicators are clear lens ones.
Remember that among the modern motorcycles in India, it is the Pulsar 220 cc and the Karizma which still hold the top slot in horsepower stakes. Karizma is more of an easygoing highway bike, while the Pulsar seems to be a high-revving motorcycle. Both have pretty much the same power on offer, but offer it in entirely different ways.
The hero Honda Karizma PGM-Fi might offer 19 bhp, which is much much above what the most popular street racers from TVS or Yamaha currently offer in India.
Some say that the front fairing means the engine might be water-or-oil cooled. Hmm. Likely? No. Chances are that it would still be air-cooled, and there would be some air vents directing air toward the fins. However, you never know.
If oil or water cooling is on offer, then expect the Karizma PGM-Fi to be priced above Rs 1 lakh.

Hi,
Many sites are buzzing after spy pictures of anticipated Hero Honda Karizma (PgmFi). Many have already criticised the design as well. I guess we should not jump over pictures taken by a navie.. probably using Mobile phone camera. The spy pictures of the bike or even non-studio photo of any bike for that matter cannot give any one an impression of the real looks of the bike.
As far as I know, the current Karizma has its from fairing built out of a VFR and its engine traits are from CRF230f.
Here I would like to share something I found… see it to believe it:
