GM India unveils Chevrolet Captiva Automatic+

Offering the convenience of automatic transmission and hassle-free motoring for discerning consumers, General Motors India has rolled out its new Chevrolet Captiva Automatic+ in India.

The Chevrolet Captiva has not exactly been setting sales charts afire – Honda’s CR-V still rules the SUV market in India.

The premium sport utility vehicle is a car that boasts of an Adaptive All-Wheel Drive and Electronic Stability Program, that incorporates technologies such as the Descent Control System and Traction Control System. The Chevrolet Captiva which had a global launch last year has been upgraded the vehicle to bring about the Captiva Automatic+.

The Chevrolet Captiva LT is available at Rs 1,862,685.00 ex-showroom Delhi, and the Captiva LTZ is available at Rs 2,030,495.00. The LT is the manual transmission version, while the LTZ is the new automatic transmission version. What you notice is that the pricing is not any different from that of the CR-V. A significant addition is the presence of a torque-sensing electronic coupling that lets engine torque to be redirected to individual axles based on road conditions.This apar tthe Electronic Stability Program helps in avoiding skids and roll-over ensuring maximum safety.

The Chevrolet Captiva Automatic+ comes powered by a next-generation, variable geometry common rail direct injection four cylinder SOHC diesel engine that produces 150 PS at 4000 rpm, and a maximum torque of 320 Nm at 2000 rpm. The non-automatic Captiva is front wheel drive, while the automatic Captiva offers adaptive AWD.
