GM India models Chevrolet Spark and Aveo U-VA bag quality awards

Two popular General Motors India models have bagged the top awards for quality for year 2008. The Chevrolet Spark and the Aveo U-VA have won the top awards for quality in the India Automotive Initial Quality Study announced by J.D Power Asia Pacific 2008.

While the Chevrolet Spark was ranked first and won the top award in the Compact Car Segment, with a score of 148 PP100, the Aveo U-VA won the award for the best car in the Premium Compact Segment, with a score of 102 PP100, in the face of equally stiff competition in the J.D Power Asia Pacific 2008. This is the second year in a row that the Chevrolet Spark has bagged this prestigious award. The two small car models, Chevrolet Spark and the Chevrolet Aveo U-VA having been ranked the highest in their respective segments means that the two models will have more buyers in the days to come. Reports said that the Chevrolet Tavera has also been ranked at Second in the MUV / MPV Segment in the J.D Power Asia Pacific 2008 awards. According to sources, the double victory comes as an endorsement of the growing popularity of the Chevrolet brand in India by Indian customers.

Chevrolet had this year celebrated its fifth anniversary in India. The car brand had swept the JD Power Awards last year also, when its cars were awarded top honours in their respective segments in JD Power’s IQS and APEAL studies in India.

The car maker has said that the two awards from J D Poweris an endorsement of the fact that Chevrolet has become the preferred automobile brand  in terms of quality and customer delight. The company plans to continue to leverage the momentum gained this far and build on the inherent strengths of our products in the future also, it said.
