In a view to spread its presence in Tier 1 and Tier 2 cities during the current year, Ford India has opened three new dealerships in Ambala, Varanasi and Siliguri.
The new dealerships boast of an integrated showroom, sales and service and are expected to lure more car enthusiasts to the showrooms. According to company officials, the new dealerships have come about as per plans of the company to focus on building a strong business fundamental in order to support expansion plans.
A news report said that the competitive cost of ownership that the auto major promises to customers has been effectively communicated with the widening of the sales network. It added that thoughts aimed at providing quality, satisfaction to the customer and the need to evolve and grow, have been conveyed to new dealers. It is being expected that the new dealerships would go ahead and bring in the customers through excellent positioning of the models.
In view of this, the new Ford dealerships have been designed aesthetically, housing separate sales counters, a play area and a customer lounge. The dealership will display all Ford models including the Ikon, Fusion, Endeavour and Fiesta. Service offerings like the Ford Accessories, Spares, Extended Warranty and Insurance will be another hallmark. The dealers will also focus on motivating customers to familiarize themselves with the vehicles and avail demonstrations and test drives. A test drive of the vehicles on show is expected to spur more enthusiasm from the part of the potential buyer, it is believed.
Ford had recently taken the route taken by other car makers such as Toyota Kirloskar, Hyundai Motor and Honda Siel, by announcing an increase in prices. It had said that prices of the Fiesta sedan have been hiked by Rs 5,000-Rs 10,000, while, prices of the Fusion rose by Rs 15,000 and the Endeavour sports utility vehicle (SUV) went up by Rs 25,000.
