We have just heard that Ford has announced the launch of yet another version of the Ford Ikon – the Ford Ikon Plus.
The last one was the Ikon iKool.
Can’t really blame Ford for coming out with minor refreshes – people are still buying the Ikon, and despite it being quite outdated, many still love the car for its easy manners and peppy drive. And it is a super-affordable sedan even in 2010.
So what have we got here this time? The Ford website has nothing to say about the Ikon Plus as of now – but an Economic Times story says that the company will offer added security features. Price is Rs 5.17-5.77 lakh (ex-showroom New Delhi). The Ikon Plus will be available in both petrol and diesel versions.
We have no idea if that is all there is no it, or whether there would be any visual changes, interior improvements, or perhaps some new stickers? Come on Ford. Give us some snazzy stickers this time, mmmkay?
Obviously nothing changes in the engine department with the Ikon Plus offering the same 1300 cc ROCAM petrol engine that produces 70 PS and the 1400 cc DuraTorq common rail diesel that offers 68 PS.
The big launch from the company, of course, is almost on us – the Ford Figo small car.
