9 May, 2007 Fiat Palio Stile has arrived, the fuel-efficient version of the Palio heartthrob which went out with a thud a few years back. Fiat India last month launched the Fiat Palio Stile in two petrol versions 1.1 and 1.6, both billed as fuel-efficient. The earlier Fiat Palios - regular palio, NV and Sport - kissed the dust in India because of their fuel guzzling, despite great looks and a peppy engine. This time around, Fiat is determined to make an impression with the Palio Stile. The 1.1 litre version of the Palio Stile is expected to give 15 kmpl in city driving and 18 kmpl on highways. PriceUnlike last time, there is lot of competition around in the small car category, and more is coming up. Fiat has launched the Palio Stile 1.1 litre in the range of Rs 3.49 lakh to Rs 3.90 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi prices. The top-end Fiat Palio Stile 1.6-litre model is priced at Rs 4.31 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). Unlike last time when the company was hobbled with a poor distribution network and shoddy after-sales, the Palio Stile comes with the assurance of the Tata-Fiat network. Palio Stile is available for sale at 63 dealerships covering 42 cities in India.

The 1.1 has 2 valves per cylinder while the higher variant has 4. The gearbox is a 5-speed, with overdrive on both 4th and 5th gears.
