The Bugatti Veyron is here. We are not sure if it still is the most expensive production car in the world, but it is somewhere near the very top for sure.

Very few will be imported, so unless you hang around places where the uber-rich hang around, you are unlikely to even catch a glimpse of the Veyron on Indian roads. So to satisfy your poor, hungry soul, here are a few photos of the ‘hypercar’ for you!

The price of the Bugatti Veyron in India is a mind-boggling Rs 17.5 crore. What a perfect way to get the income tax authorities to come after you? Oh, wait a minute. If you have Rs 17.5 crore to spare, most probably, you run the income tax department!

According to Bugatti’s website, Exclusive Motors based in New Delhi is the company’s Indian representative from now on. They are already distributors for two automotive marques – Bentley and Lamborghini – in India.

According to different media reports about the Veyron, two – or three – supercars have already been booked and / or delivered to buyers in India.

The 1000+bhp Bugatti Veyron is powered by an 8000cc W16 engine that helps it shoot from 0 to 100 kmph in mere 2.5 seconds and is capable of doing 400 kmph. Obviously, in India, the car will be a showpiece and is likely to scrape its underbody even on the roads in Indian metros.

The Veyron’s price could go down to Rs 16 crores depending on the trim level buyers opt for. The price makes the Bugatti supercar India’s most expensive car. It displaces the Mercedes Maybach which sells at Rs 5.5 to 6 crore.

The Bugatti Veyron is only available in the left-hand drive version. Bugatti has managed to get a special clearance from the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) for an exception for the Veyron as only right-hand cars are allowed to be imported into India normally.

The Veyron is manufactured at Bugatti’s facilites in Molsheim, France with just 300 of these supercars made till date. 250 of those are sold to elite buyers while there is a long list of the rich and powerful who long to get their Veyrons.
