Bentley has launched the world’s fastest car, the Continental Flying Spur Speed, in India. The Continental Flying Spur Speed car has a top speed of 320 kmph, Bentley claims. The car will be priced at Rs 2.5 crore (ex-showroom Delhi).

Bentley Motors regional director (Middle East, Africa and India) Chris Buxton was quoted as saying, “We are looking at enhancing our range in India. All our future models will be simultaneously launched in India along with the global market.”

The Bentley Continental Flying Spur Speed is a four-door variant of the Bentley Continental GT Speed. The Bentley Continental Flying Spur Speed 6.0l, 600bhp, twin-turbo V12 can go to 100kph in 4.8 seconds. The car comes with an uprated chassis including stiffer springs/dampers and a lower ride height (10mm).

The Bentley Continental Flying Spur Speed comes with 19-inch multi-spoke Pirelli P zero performance rubber, and provides an option of carbon-ceramic disc brakes.
The car has a self-adjusting air suspension with thicker front and rear stabilizer bars. Meanwhile, the Servotronic steering system in the Bentley Continental Flying Spur has been redone for greater response. The car’s radar-based Adaptive Cruise Control has also been refurbished with follow-to-stop precision and five time-gap settings.
The other changes you can find in the Continental Flying Spur Speed, is a black front grille and lower air intakes in the front and rear wide exhaust. The interiors of the Bentley Continental Flying Spur Speed have a leather-wrapped steering wheel and a Naim 1100W custom-made audio unit. The other features (optional, but at no additional cost) include a bright chromed grille, piano black and dark stained Burr Walnut veneers, diamond-quilted leather to seat facings and doors, headrests with embroidered Bentley emblem, and “Speed” treadplates to all the doors.
Users can also opt for a a three-spoke sports steering wheel with single-tone leather and sporting gear lever finished with snarled and ridged chrome and leather and drilled alloy sport foot pedals.
Bentley is now focusing on the Indian car market as sales hace been slow in the developed markets.

There has been a slowdown in the global automobile market and we are expecting to compensate for this with demand from emerging markets like India, China and the Middle East. China remains the largest market in Asia and we are hoping India will emerge the next biggest in the medium to long term. Its strong growing economy and buoyant auto market is important for Bentley’s overall future growth.”
With the addition of the new Continental Flying Spur Speed car, Bentley will be selling five cars in the Indian market.
As of now, Bentley has an order backlog of 30 cars in India.
In 2006, Bentley had launched the Bentley Continental Flying Spur in India. The four-door model was priced in the range of Rs 1.9 to Rs 2 crore. The Bentley Continental Flying Spur, with a top speed of 290 kmph, gave a mileage of 5 km per hour and came with a six-litre, 12-cylinder, twin-turbo charged engine.
The Bentley Continental Flying Spur had a DVD satellite navigation system, Bluetooth, advanced keyless entry and ignition technology, an alloy sports wheels option, four-zone climate control and gearshift paddls on the multi-function steering wheel.
