Bajaj Auto could not have asked for a better start to 2009, if you look at how well the XCD 135 DTS-Si has been doing in just 15 days after the launch of the motorcycle. Finally Bajaj has managed to have a bike that can take on Hero Honda in the 125-135 cc segment of the motorcycle market in India.
The boke was launched at the end of January 2009, and figures released by Bajaj show that 10,000 XCD-DTS-Si motorcycles have been grabbded by customers in just 15 days. Not bad at all, Bajaj – not bad at all. That’s not even the complete sales figure for the full month of february 2009.
We suspect it had something to do with that advertisement that is airing on national television though – yea, the one that shows two young women fighting to get a ride on a Bajaj XCD 135 DTS-Si. I am too old to get inspired by that, but there ae a lot of young men out there whose hormones compel them to compel their fathers for the money for that specific motorcycle. I think that high sales figure has something to do with it.
Bajaj will start production of the XCD 135 DTS-Si at its antnagar plant too to meet the increasing demand for the motorcycle.
If you haven’t seen the ad yet, here ya go.
