Auto Expo 2008 profitable for participants

The Delhi Auto Expo saw some major Taiwanese presence, and going by the numbers it was as a cool 36 companies that traveled all the way to Delhi.

The Taiwan Pavilion saw as many as eight companies represented by the Taiwan Transportation Vehicle Manufacturers Association (TVMA). the Taiwan Transportation Vehicle Manufacturers Association participated at the 2008 Auto Expo for the first time and went back totally impressed. The Taiwan team is sure to come back for the Delhi Auto Expo in 2010.

Interestingly, the Taiwan Transportation Vehicle Manufacturers Association saw a lot of business enquires being made over the past one week. The Association, which has a total 600 members comprising automobile, bikes and component manufacturers, found the 200 Auto Expo a great business opportunity.

The technological capability displayed by many an Indian company is seen by the team as a great opportunity for collaboration between India and Taiwan.

It wasn’t just the Taiwanese who made good gains. The Canadian pavilion, which housed as many as 16 companies, showcased the component manufacturers such as Ballard, L&P Automotive Group, Ontario Drive, and Gear Limited. The Canada - Auto Sector Seminar also threw up many an opportunity for the Canada companies to one-to-one business meetings with potential partners.

Yet another team which reaped gains is the automotive industry delegation from Japan. Led by the Automobile Manufacturers Associations, the delegation represented 14 Japanese car, truck, bus and motorcycle manufacturers.
