Audi to open Ahmedabad dealership

German luxury car maker is expanding presence in India, of late. The latest addition to Audi’s presence in India is Ahmedabad. The car maker has said that  Audi Ahmedabad would be the ever first exclusive dealership for Gujarat.

The Ahmedabad showroom, which is the third in the whole of Western India, is to be equipped with six cars for display y and will be manned by 12 company trained employees. The service section will look after the needs of all Audi models based on the current technology and gadgets exclusively drawn from Germany, said an Audi source.

The company has said that Audi Ahmedabad would come with all that is exclusive to Audi. This includes the Audi exclusivity, sophistication and progressiveness, it added. All the Audi ranges – Audi A4, Audi A6, Audi A8, Audi Q7 and Audi TT- are at sale in the dealership network spread over India in Ahmedabad, Delhi, Gurgaon, Chandigarh, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Pune, Ludhiana, Kochi, Kolkata and Chennai. Ahmedabad will add to the number.

In an effort to make the new showroom much more luring, the car maker has brought the sports car Audi R8 for display. The car has already hit the Indian roads. The super sports car Audi R8 is currently available at Rs 1.17 crore. Audi, meanwhile, said that it is fast lining up new models in India. Audi has released five models in the past 22 months. The new models that are to come are expected to help the car maker triple its annual sales to 3000 units by 2010.

Among the new models planned for India would be a range of coupes, convertibles and the small sedan named A1 . These models are to be rolled out of the company’s plant at Aurangabad in Maharashtra, which boasts of a capacity of as many as 1500 units year after year.
