100 cc motorcycles in India

While we go on and on about the performance motorcycles in India, there exists a bunch of basic motorcycles often contribute substantially to the bottomlines of the motorcycle manufacturers in India. They put rural India on two wheels at affordable prices, and some of them even are pretty good urban commuters. So here is a basic list of all the 100 cc motorcycles in India.

ROCK 100

Global Auto Rock 100 motorcycle

Rock 100 is a 100-cc motorcycle from Global Automobiles (Xenitis Group). Rock 100 produces its maximum power of 6.7 bhp @ 8500 rpm. Maximum torque is 6.5 nm @ 6000 rpm, the gear is 4-speed constant mesh (shift pattern: all down). Claimed fuel efficiency is 115 km/l. Price is Rs 26,292.

We have no idea how many Rock 100 motorcycles are sold in India. It is not available across the country either. On the other hand, if a 100 cc motorcycle that does the job without any fuss is what you are looking for, find a dealer and take a test ride – and ideally talk to someone who owns one. At that price, you HAVE to take a look at it, at least.

And yea, it has an electric start and a bikini fairing too! What more do you need?

Bajaj PLATINA

Bajaj Platina 100 cc bike

Platina is a 100-cc motorcycle from Bajaj. Its maximum power is 8.2 bhp @ 7500 rpm, maximum torque is 8.05 nm @ 4500 rpm, has alloy wheels, 4 gears, and claimed fuel efficiency is 108 km/l. Price 33,174. It looks like a well-made motorcycle, and a decent urban commuter. Fit and finish are good enough for a commuter bike for sure. Hero Honda CD DAWN

The Hero Honda CD Dawn is the lowest priced 100-cc motorcycle from Hero Honda. Its maximum power is 7.7 bph @7500 rpm, maximum torque is 7.7 nm @ 5000 rpm. It has 4 gears, and claimed fuel efficiency is 70 km/l. Price is 33,037. This is a basic motorcycle alright, and looks like one too. Does the job.

Hero Honda PASSION PLUS

Passion Plus is a 100-cc motorcycle from Hero Honda, a minor upgrade from the earlier Hero Honda Passion. Its maximum power is 7.4 bph @ 5000 rpm, maximum torque is 7.2 nm @ 5000 rpm. It has disc brake, and 4 gears, and claimed fuel efficiency is 65 km/l. Price is 43,899. You get a maximum speed of 85 kmph – nothing to complain about it – and it looks quite good too.

Splendor NXG 100 cc

Hero Honda SPLENDOR NXG

Splendor NXG is a 100-cc motorcycle from Hero Honda. Its maximum power is 7.7 bph @ 7500 rpm, maximum torque is 7.7 nm @ 6000 rpm. It has 4 gears, and the claimed fuel efficiency is 70 km/l.

Price is 38,453. Top speed is around 97 kmph claimed – you would cruise happily at 60 or 70 for sure. The front and rear fairing, black alloy wheels and overall finish makes this a proper executive motorcycle for our cities.

Yamaha ALBA

Alba is a 106-cc motorcycle from Yamaha. Its maximum power is 7.6 bph @ 7500 rpm, maximum torque is 7.85 nm @ 6000 rpm. It has 4 gears, and the claimed fuel efficiency is 80 km/l. Price is 34,700.

Yamaha as we know is focusing more and more on the performance motorcycles in India. But this 100 cc category motorcycle still exists, and does the job well. We don’t think its going to be around for too long though.

Yamaha CRUX

Crux is a 100-cc motorcycle from Yamaha. Its maximum power is 7.5 bph @ 7500 rpm, maximum torque is 7.85 nm @ 6000 rpm. It has 4 gears, and the claimed fuel efficiency is 91 km/l. Price is 32,999. The Crux is a basic 100 cc bike targeted at the Indian rural market, and therefore design and looks are basic. But well, its a Yamaha, the price does not break the bank either.
