Combining class-leading technology with dynamic design, the all new Vauxhall Insignia has sped away with the highly coveted Editors Choice Award at the 2008 Fleet World Awards.

The event on May 13 that unfolded at the the Royal Automobile Club in London saw the Vauxhall Insignia proving beyond doubt that it is the most innovative, ambitious model ever to come from Vauxhall. As pointed out by auto news, it also combines the best environmental technologies with those designed to deliver optimum driver pleasure and active safety.

Vauxhall Insignia, which is ready for its world premiere at this year’s British International Motor Show in London, has been described by its makers as representing yet another leap forward in Vauxhall’s 50 year heritage in this sector. Now with the award, the company is sure that the industry and enthusiasts alike are positive about the character and benefits the car could offer. The Fleet World Editor’s Choice Award is given to the vehicle that, in the opinion of the editor, will have a major impact in the fleet market.

The Vauxhall Insignia has been described as among the most important and significant fleet cars of the next few years. The car has all in it to raise the benchmark in terms of design and specification.

The Fleet World Awards are designed to acknowledge those car and van fleet-related companies that have contributed that extra something to the industry. Pointing out that Vauxhall’s commercial vehicles were also highly successful at the Van Fleet Awards, it sad that the awards fr the best Van Manufacturer of the Year as well as Best Medium Van went to the UK-built Vivaro and Best Light Van to the Vauxhall Combo.
