Chinese Foton vehicles debut in Sri Lanka

Chinese Foton vehicles will soon debut on Sri Lankan roads. Foton boasts of many varieties of vehicles including trucks, luxury buses, cars, and coaster buses that are suitable for Sri Lankan road conditions and economical as well.

Meanwhile, Foton has appointed Indra Traders as the local agent for the Foton brand. Indra Traders has reportedly taken a new initiative to import brand new motor vehicles to cater to the commercial and passenger transport segment with high quality low-priced brand new vehicles.

Indra plans to sell as many as 400 Foton vehicles before the end of 2007. Indra, incidentally, has become the distributor of Foton vehicles in Sri Lanka as it thinks bringing in well-priced vehicles into the island nationís market would pay off.

Foton is Chinaís largest automobile company with an output of as many as 310,000 vehicles in six production facilities in China employing 27,300 people. The company plans to manufacture more than one million vehicles by the year 2010.

Foton currently exports its various models to five continents.
