Nissan Pivo concept at London
Science Museum
29 April, 2008 BY OUR AUTOMOBILE CORRESPONDENT A scale model of Nissan’s Pivo electric concept and several other of the company’s environmental technologies are being displayed at the London’s prestigious Science Museum. Along with the quarter-scale Nissan Pivo, other Nissan models, which use new vehicle fuels, including electricity, hydrogen and bio fuels made from plants, have been displayed. The zero-emission concept, which features a fully rotating cabin eliminating the need to reverse, was first unveiled at the Tokyo Motor Show in 2005. The five-year exhibition will be held at 20 venues around the world and will be viewed by more than four million visitors. The Science of Survival exhibition aims to show thought-provoking and interactive technologies, which explore how human lives could be affected by environmental changes and resource availability by year 2050. The exhibition was developed in consultation with scientists and researchers and is co-sponsored by Nissan. According to auto news, Nissan has also exhibited its compact laminated lithium-ion battery for electric vehicles, its Super Motor and part of a resin outer body panel. Super Motor offers greater power in smaller packaging compared with conventional motors and has application potential for electric vehicles, as well as petrol and electric hybrids and fuel cell vehicles. The report added that the Science of Survival concept complements the Nissan Green Program 2010, which focuses on reducing CO2 emissions from Nissan’s products and activities around the world, reducing other exhaust emissions and accelerating recycling efforts. ..Do type in your comments below!
