Mitsubishi will display its high performance 4WD sedan at the Beijing auto show. Mitisubishi's new Lancer Evolution will be unveiled at the Beijing International Motor Show, which opens on April 20, 2008.

The Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution launched in October 2007 in Japan received an enthusiastic response. This is said to have spurred the company to subsequently introduce the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution in the North American, European, and Australia markets. With the imminent launch in China, Mitsubishi would launch the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution in the major global markets.

The Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution, which is known as Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X in Japan, features Mitsubishi’s time tested Super All Wheel Control (S-AWC) vehicle dynamics control system, Twin Clutch Sport Shift Transmission and other new technologies. All these make sure that the new-generation high-performance 4WD sedan, the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution, would offer the highest levels of fun-to-drive performance safely.

Apart from the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution, Mitsubishi would also be taking the Mitsubishi Concept-RA*1 to the Beijing International Motor Show.

Adding to the line up would be the Mitsubishi Prototype-S sport hatchback concept and other 13 models. The i MiEV electric vehicle, currently being developed as a symbol of the company's approach to environmental issues and with a view to introduction on markets outside Japan would be part of the Mitsubishi pavilion.

The Beijing show is seen by the company as a significant one in terms of business. China had earlier on itself been picked by the company as one of its focus markets for the coming years. The fast growing demand for automobiles in China has spurred the company to mull over the unveiling of six new models over the next three years, including some built locally, in China.
