Jeep global brand expands into Europe

Jeep wants to expand its brand globally - starting at Frankfurt!

  • Jeep Compass and Patriot Concepts make world premiere

  • All-New Jeep Commander debuts for markets outside North America

  • Camp Jeep brings unique customer experience to Frankfurt Motor Show

Frankfurt — Jeep is continuing its steady product offensive at the 2005 International Motor Show (IAA) in Frankfurt with the world premiere of the Jeep Patriot and Jeep Compass concepts in addition to the Jeep Commander premiere for markets outside of North America.

The Jeep Patriot and Jeep Compass concepts are compact Jeep 4 x 4s that would deliver fun, freedom, utility, capability, as well as the potential for high fuel economy, interior fl exibility and great value. These concepts hint at two future compact SUVs that the Jeep brand could build for global markets as soon as next year.

In addition to the world premiere of the Jeep Compass and Jeep Patriot concepts, the Jeep brand continues its product offensive with the introduction of the all-new Jeep Commander. The Commander is classic in design and is the fi rst Jeep to offer three rows of seats with space for seven passengers. The Commander offers two V-8 engines as well as a 3.0-litre V-6 CRD engine with a Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) as standard.

The Jeep Commander will be built at the Magna Steyr Manufacturing Facility in Graz, Austria for markets outside of North America and will join the award winning Grand Cherokee that is currently being built at the same plant.

Preliminary research conducted in key markets of Western Europe indicated that the Jeep Commander’s distinctive design and product proposition are perceived to be in alignment with the core values of the Jeep brand, with a clear “rough and tough” image that positions it as a new alternative and not direct competitor for the Jeep Grand Cherokee.

Camp Jeep Brings Outdoor Fun for the Whole Family to the Heart of the City The Chrysler Group is redefining the auto show visitors’ experience at the 2005 Frankfurt Motor Show by constructing a unique, man-made, urban 4 x 4 driving course that will provide event-goers with an authentic off-road driving experience while allowing the whole family to experience the unique Jeep lifestyle...Camp Jeep.

Camp Jeep at the Frankfurt Motor Show will give motor show attendees a chance to experience the extreme on- and off-road capabilities of Jeep vehicles and to experience other Jeep-related activities, all included in the price of admission to all without leaving the show area. Chrysler Group will be the only automotive manufacturer to offer not only a 4 x 4 driving event but an experience for the whole family. “Jeep is so much more than a range of highly capable vehicles. At Camp Jeep in Frankfurt our stand visitors will be able to immerse themselves in every element of the Jeep brand experience. People want to do a lot more than just look at vehicles at a motor show nowadays, and at Camp Jeep in Frankfurt, we’ll give them an experience to remember,” said Thomas Hausch, Chrysler Group’s Executive Director of International Sales and Marketing.

From the rugged icon of the brand, Jeep Wrangler, to the fl agship Grand Cherokee, Jeep has a strong product line-up and world-wide brand recognition that continue to strengthen the Jeep Brand in today’s competitive global sport-utility market.
