Force India will see a handful of big names in the driver’s seat in December 2007. According to a F1 website news story, Ralf Schumacher, Giancarlo Fisichella, and Franck Montagny are set to drive for Force India at the multi-team test at Jerez.

It is expected that the three big names in Formula One will be in action at the Spanish track. It is a known fact that Ralf Schumacher, who had left Toyota at the end of last season, is currently looking for a race seat for 2008. He has been offered the opportunity to test by Force India co-owner Vijay Mallya.

The 32-year-old German, who has six Grand Prix titles to his credit during his 11-year career, seems to have recognized Dr Mallya’s passion for the sport. According to the ace driver, for any driver, driving for a young dynamic team with high ambitions is a good opportunity. He says that at the moment, it is just one test to see how we get on working together, and whether this is possible. “I think I can help the team with its development program but we will see,” he says.

Meanwhile Fisichella, the Italian driver who has driven for Renault for the past three seasons, has been given the chance to test for Force India by the French squad. However, he is yet to confirm the 2008 line-up. He says that whilst no driver has been officially confirmed by Renault, the team has given him permission to explore other options. He added that he had been invited to test with Force India F1 Team at Jerez.

The third driver Franck Montagny, who had spent the last season testing for Toyota confirmed that he was in contact with Mallya. The possibility of testing with Force India had him go for it, he said.

According to the F1 report, the four-day test will see Force India testing two Ferrari-powered former Spyker F8-VII chassis.
