15th August 2005:Under its route expansion plans, Kingfisher Airlines is to launch
its daily non-stop services between New Delhi and Mumbai from August 15. The
carrier will operate five daily flights in both the directions, with a one-way fare
priced at Rs 3,399, plus taxes.
The new service would also help the airline to offer connectivity between New
Delhi and Goa, via Mumbai, with two flights per day. The company had launched
its Mumbai-Goa schedule on August 11, 2005, and with the launch of the new
routes, the carrier's number of daily flights has increased to 26, Kingfisher Airlines
said in a press release today.
With five flights daily, in both directions, the new route will provide convenient
service for business and leisure travellers alike.
Kingfisher Airlines Chairman and Managing Director Vijay Mallya said: “I am
delighted that Kingfisher Airlines is now able to offer flights from New Delhi to
Mumbai, and to Goa. We are looking at revolutionising business and leisure travel
on these routes".
The carrier will operate two Airbus A320 aircraft on the routes, and would provide
gourmet meals on the sector.
Kingfisher Airlines has introduced a slew of marketing and promotional initiatives,
including the 'Chill Times' offer, an offer running through the end of September
2005.
Under the offer, the carrier would offer a free one-way ticket on any sector of the
user's choice on producing four boarding passes, and a return ticket on
presentation of six boarding passes.
Kingfisher Airlines is a wholly-owned subsidiary of United Breweries (Holdings) Ltd,
a UB Group company, India's largest conglomerates with a turnover of $2 billion.
The carrier had launched its services in May 2005.
