Kingfisher Airlines commences Mumbai-Goa flights

15th August 2005: Kingfisher Airlines has commenced its Mumbai-Goa service
from Dabolim International Airport in Goa, with two daily flights. The carrier has
priced its one-way fare on the route at Rs 1,999, plus taxes.
“At present, we have four aircraft and would acquire another two within two
weeks’ time, besides increasing the total number of daily flights to 26,” Kingfisher
Airlines Chairman and Managing Director Vijay Mallya told reporters at the
Dabolim airport.
The carrier intends to increase the frequency to three daily flights in both
directions, even as it intends to connect its Delhi-Mumbai service with the Goa
service from August 15, 2005.
“Goa attracts many tourists and with the launch of flights Goa, the fun experience
will now begin right from the time guests board Kingfisher Airlines and relish the
unique ‘Kingfisher Class’ experience,” Mallya said.
Kingfisher Airlines has introduced a slew of marketing and promotional initiatives,
including the 'Chill Times' offer, an offer running through the end of September
2005.
Under the offer, the carrier would offer a free one-way ticket on any sector of the
user's choice on producing four boarding passes, and a return ticket on
presentation of six boarding passes.
Kingfisher Airlines is a wholly-owned subsidiary of United Breweries (Holdings) Ltd,
a UB Group company, India's largest conglomerates with a turnover of $2 billion.
The carrier had launched its services in May 2005.
