15 June, 2005, Paris: News agencies on the web reported that European missile maker MBDA is set to announce a deal to acquire 81% stake in Germany's LFK from EADS, at the paris air show currently under way at in Le Bourget. MBDA already holds 19% stake in LFK. The agencies quoted a source close to the development as saying this.
The deal is expected to be signed by MBDA chief executive Marwan Lahoud, and head of EADS' defense division, Thomas Enders.
However, there was no confirmation or denial of the report by MBDA. LFK's turnover is pegged around 300 millio ln euros. EADS has 37.5 pct in MBDA, while BAE Systems PLC holds 37.5 pct, and Finmeccanica holds 25 pct.
