22 Sep, 2005: MAXjet Airways will offer scheduled all-business class passenger service on November 1, 2005, with six flights each week between New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport and London's Stansted Airport. MAXjet will offer an all-business class service with everyday fares starting at just $779 each way. Fares will be 50 to 75 percent less than those currently in the marketplace.
MAXjet Airways, based at Washington Dulles International Airport, has operational facilities and deluxe departure lounge services at both New York's JFK Airport and London's Stansted Airport. Stansted, a major gateway to Europe, is the fourth busiest and fastest growing airport in the United Kingdom and serves more than 140 destinations. A terminal express train service connects the airport to Liverpool Street Station in central London with easy access to Canary Wharf and the financial district.
"MAXjet was founded to bring greater value to the intercontinental market by connecting key business cities with a high-quality, low-fare business class product," said Gary Rogliano, MAXjet's chief executive officer. "MAXjet was designed to appeal to the savvy traveler with luxury amenities for all passengers and the highest standards for comfort, service and value."
MAXjet will offer a true business class experience at low fares that are available at all times, even for last-minute passengers. MAXjet flight ticket fares will be flexible, allowing for changes and refunds for a fee. MAXjet will offer just one class of service -- Business Class. This flight service will include business class airline seats with the traditional amenities of the largest carriers, such as a pre-departure beverage, multi-course meals, a chef's pantry, complimentary premium liquor, portable on-demand entertainment, travel amenities and much more.
MAXjet will operate Boeing 767-200ERs on the initial route. Typically configured to seat more than 200 passengers, MAXjet will configure its B767s with just 102 seats with 60" pitch to greatly increase legroom and space for each of its passengers. There will be no middle seats on the aircraft.
MAXjet will officially begin accepting reservations on September 26, 2005. Passenger travel between New York and London can be booked through MAXjet's website or through the company's toll-free number. The website contains additional information about routes, fares and flight schedules.
MAXjet will expand its fleet and flight schedule and include a second flight between JFK and Stansted. During its first year of service, MAXjet will add additional routes to London from major U.S. markets. The airline also has DOT approval to operate transatlantic and intercontinental service to Aruba, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Chile, Germany, France, Italy, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom.
MAXjet flights to London operate every day except Saturdays. Return service to New York operates every day except Saturday. Ticket fares shown are one way. Maximum stay in London is 365 days. Ticket fares do not include Federal International Air Transportation Taxes, foreign departure taxes, customs and immigration fees, airport improvement and health inspection fees and other fees of approximately $150 roundtrip. Seats are limited and certain flights and/or days of travel may be unavailable at lowest prices, especially during busy travel periods. Tickets are nontransferable, but may be reissued for a $100 change fee plus any applicable difference in fare. Tickets are refundable for a $300 fee. Fares and schedules are subject to change without notice and other restrictions may apply. Service to London starts 11/1/05.
