Eos Airlines US-UK flights from October
The all-business luxury Eos Airlines flights will carry just 48 passengers per plane.

22 Sep, 2005: Eos Airlines, the all-business class luxury airline based in the US is expected to start its London flights by mid-October, pitted against MAXjet, another business class airline from US.
Eos Airlines is planning to launch twice daily return services from New York's JFK airport to London Stansted airport. The airline will be all-business class.
Eos Airlines launch is also expected to be assault on the airspace currently dominated by major British Airways and Virgin Atlantic flights. Many of the big trans-Atlantic fliers rely heavily on business and luxury air tickets to rake in profits. Eos is making a direct foray into this territory. Eos is headed by Dave Spurlock, a former British Airways executive.
Unlike standard Boeings, the Eos flights will carry only 48 passengers. For in-flight meetings, the Eos planes will have companion seats.
The Eos Airlines flight ticket fares will be around $6,500 round trip, almost 20% less than the high end of current business-class flight tickets. The company is starting with three planes and two round-trip flights per day.
Eos claims that each of its travelers will have 21 sq ft of space to himself. DVD players, cashmere blankets and china crockery will part of the Eos Airlines luxury travel package. The reconfigured Eos Airlines jets will have seats which stretch out into beds for the luxury air traveler.
Eos Airlines recently said that it has mopped up $85m by way of US venture capital and claims to have $100m of lease financing in place.
The all-business Eos Airlines flights will be a strategy which will have to prove itself. Earlier experiments with business-only flights have had mixed success. Many leasing airlines have scrapped business-only flights since it does not fit in with their plane cabin layouts.
Earlier, Eos Airlines had planned to start its business flights on September 16. However, the flight plans had to be changed since the FAA clearance did not come through by then.
