Paris Air Show (Le Bourget, France), June 14, 2005 – Embraer today announced it will attend the 46th Paris Air Show at Le Bourget Airport to promote achievements in Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) aircraft as well as the Super Tucano military trainer.
The Paris Air Show, one of the most prestigious in the world, is being held June 13-19 in Paris, France. Senior executives from Embraer’s Defense business unit will be on hand during the event.
Particular emphasis will be placed on the promotion of Embraer ISR line, for which the Brazilian Government was the launch customer. Eight Embraer ISR airplanes are currently deployed in the Amazon Surveillance Program (SIVAM), specifically five Airborne Early Warning & Control (AEW&C) and three Remote Sensing (RS) aircraft.
In Latin America, the Mexican government uses the AEW&C and Maritime Patrol (MP) versions for ISR missions.
Greece became the first NATO country to buy Embraer ISR aircraft and is soon expected to deploy the first EMB 145 AEW&C aircraft. Most recently, the United States Army contracted Lockheed Martin to develop the Aerial Common Sensor (ACS) program. This program will introduce the next generation multi-intelligence precision targeting system for the warfighter. Embraer will supply the aerial platforms for the ACS program.
Embraer is also promoting its Super Tucano basic-advanced trainer and light attack aircraft, which is already in operation with the Brazilian Air Force (FAB) training pilots and alongside the ISR airplanes in the SIVAM program. Embraer’s Super Tucano is an evolution from the original Tucano platform that boasts some 650 aircraft operating with 16 air forces worldwide.
