15 June, 2005: Bombardier, the Canadian plane maker has claimed strong consumer interest for its recently-launched Bombardier Corporate Shuttle Solutions. Bombardier has announced the sale of its first Bombardier Challenger 850 aircraft to an Eastern European customer. The latest Bombardier Challenger 850 aircraft is useful to shuttle company staffers between operation sites within Europe.
Bombardier Challenger 850 aircraft was selected owing to its flexibility and economic advantages, the company claimed. Bombardier is marketing the Challenger 850 Shuttle on the platform of low direct operating costs, proven reliability and superior cabin comfort.
Bombardier Challenger 850 aircraft can fly up to 2,232 nautical miles (4,133 km) and accommodate 27 passengers in business-class seats with three seats per row. The aircraft has Deluxe Cabin configuration and one of three passenger accommodation options. The aircraft also sports spacious cabin including overhead bins, an airliner galley for hot meal service and a semi-executive lavatory.
"The Challenger corporate shuttle family has been generating serious market interest and we are particularly pleased to announce this first sale so soon following its launch just three weeks ago," said Peter Edwards, President, Bombardier Business Aircraft. "This also reinforces Bombardier's strong presence in the former CIS (Commonwealth of Independent States) and in Russia, where our superior products and broad platform offering has made our company the de facto leader in this fast growing market."
Bombardier is the first aircraft manufacturer to launch a complete portfolio of corporate shuttle aircraft. The company has a multi-disciplinary team including engineering, program, sales, business development and customer support functions.
